Supernatural's fan base are talking about the news on two new female cast members will be joining TheCW show when it returns for a new season. Some fans think it's a lame excuse to add some women to the male dominated cast, while the others are laid back enough to hand it over to the creative team to do their craft and wait for the new season before criticizing the move. One of the actresses have already been named, and there is little question as about whether or not The CW is trying to level up their hot chick factor for Supernatural.
Katie Cassidy is the daughter of teen-idol come producer David Cassidy. She will be taking the role of Ruby, the female hunter on Supernatural. Casting sides are also implying that the tough as nails hunter Ruby may become a potential love interest for Sam, who is played by Jared Padalecki.
Casting sides are parts of scripts used by actors and actresses for auditions, and in this casting side, Ruby is portrayed as a callous and somewhat cold woman. She is a dedicated soldier in the battle against evil, but is more concerned about the destruction of their enemies than the safety of the innocent people affected by the war.
To add to that, there is some sexual aggression between Ruby and Sam as she tries to talk him into going to bed with her at the end of the scene. "It's kinda well, romantic, don't you think? Very Casablanca.' What do you think , Sam we don't know if we'll be alive tomorrow so what should we do tonight?" Ruby says to Sam at the conclusion of the side.
